Silgra is an independent creative space where cinematic singer-songwriter art, internal liberation, and raw poetry collide.
“Selling my house at 55 for film school was a cinematic audacity. Breaking into music at 56 is a beautiful transgression.” Silgra is a defiant, atmospheric classic-pop and singer-songwriter space masterminded by award-winning documentary filmmaker Berta Silvergray. After crossing a continent to graduate from Vancouver film school and directing the acclaimed documentary "In Bright Plumage" (a festival semi-finalist in Los Angeles and award winner in Vancouver), she shattered a lifelong cultural wall surrounding mature sensuality, using a burlesque performance to explore the boundaries of liberation against rigid traditional taboos.
Following a period of profound psychological isolation, music became her ultimate tool for self-exploration and healing. Driven by hypnotic, cinematic rhythms, her upcoming EP "The Unspoken" (Nedoskaz) serves as a powerful sonic statement of internal liberation and personal boundaries.
The journey transitions from the tender, chill classic-pop ballad "Как тепло в твоих объятиях" (85 BPM, B minor) to the defiant folk-infused energy of "Девица-Правда", culminating in the brand new focus track "Ритмы Природы" (91 BPM, C# minor). This final chapter delivers a mesmerizing blend of traditional Sitar and Tabla with modern sub-bass production and soaring female vocals. It is a breathtaking emotional confession of a woman who broke through the glass wall of compliance, learned to embrace her raw inner strength, and finally claimed her freedom
